On May 11, 1998, India successfully conducted the Nuclear Missile Test at the Indian Army’s Pokhran range. After this monumental accomplishment, former Prime Minister, Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared India a Nuclear Power. Since then, May 11 has been observed as the National Technology Day, to commemorate the achievements of scientists, researchers, engineers and all others involved in the field of science and technology. The celebration of Technology Day symbolizes India’s quest for scientific inquiry, technological creativity & innovations, and the integration of these developments into national socioeconomic benefits and global presence.

 

To celebrate National Technology Day 2024, AQER honours Scientists, Technologists and  Academicians  in order to recognize and reward the remarkable work done by  them throughout their career.

 

 

Maximum of FOUR awards  will be  bestowed in each above categories to recognize achievements & contributions made in given fields covering all domains of Science and Technology.

1. Tech Shri (TS) award: Maximum of 15 awards to be given to recognize the distinguished contributions in given fields covering all domains of Science and Technology.

2. Tech Yuva (TY) award:  Maximum of 15 awards to be given to recognize and encourage young scientists  whose age is less than 40 years and made an exceptional contribution in given fields covering all domains of Science and Technology.

3. Tech Team (TT) award: Maximum of 15  awards may be awarded to a team comprising of three or more scientists/researchers/innovators who have made an exceptional contribution working in a team in given fields covering all domains of Science and Technology.

4. Tech Student (TS) award: Maximum of 15 awards to be given to recognize and encourage  bona fide students  of  Recognized institutions made an initial entry level contribution in given fields covering all domains of Science and Technology.

33% of the Awards in the individual categories are reserved for Women.

Selection criterion

Self Assessment : 50% weightage

This will be according the Performance indicators submitted by the individual as per the enclosed Excel sheet

Perception/ Nomination:  10% weightage

The individual applicant has to forward three nomination letters from their peers.

OR

The individual applicant should provide a list of Ten names of their peers and the mail addresses so that AQER can approach THREE of them for perception.

Committee Assessment: 40% weightage

AQER will form the committee of experts with specific guidelines. This committee will assess each application under each category and domain. The committees decision will be final.

 

Final Results

Results will be announced on  11th May 2024,  National Technology Day through website. Individual mails will be sent for the selected candidates. All applicants will received the list of selected candidates through mail.

All the awards will be presented at an Awards function on 30th June 2024, Sunday, Morning. The invitation  along with the details of venue and the Chief Guest/ Guests  will be sent all the applicants  in due course of time.
